The Alumni Association was founded by six members of the first Metro Citizens Police Academy, which began in 2003. One of the original goals of the Alumni Association was to be a service that supports the five Academy police departments and their communities, a goal that continues today.  


Over the years the group has helped with a number of department and community activities, including:

  • Special fundraisers for police department projects, such as K-9s
  • Police Benefit Association picnics
  • Traffic and security support at local events
  • Shooting competitions
  • Monthly Coffee with a Cop gatherings


Since forming the MCPAAA we have also helped with the Academy class itself by securing meal donations, providing photography, and promoting the Academy at events and in parades.
